FAQ's
Can I use my FSA or HSA to pay for a lactation consultation? ∨
Yes. Lactation consultations are considered a qualifying medical expense under most FSA and HSA plans. Families can often use these funds to pay for:
- In-home lactation consultations
- Office lactation visits
- Virtual lactation support
- Breastfeeding assessments
- Pump and feeding support
What if my baby is already a few weeks old — is it too late? ∨
It is never too late for lactation support. We work with families at every stage — newborn, 2–6 weeks, 3–6 months, and beyond. Feeding challenges can be improved at any point with the right support.
What if my baby is gaining weight but feeding is painful? ∨
Pain is not normal and should not be ignored — even if weight gain looks good. We assess latch, positioning, oral function, milk transfer, nipple health, and feeding mechanics. Comfort matters just as much as growth.
Can you help if my baby falls asleep at the breast? ∨
Yes. Sleepy feeders are very common, especially in the early weeks. We help with waking techniques, feeding positioning, milk flow optimization, feeding pacing, and transfer efficiency.
What if my baby refuses the breast or bottle? ∨
We support breast refusal, bottle refusal, flow preference, nipple confusion, and feeding aversion. We build gentle, baby-led plans that restore calm and confidence.
Can you help if I'm supplementing with formula? ∨
Absolutely. We support combination feeding, supplementation plans, milk supply protection, and transitioning back to exclusive breastfeeding if desired. There is no judgment — only support.
What if I have flat or inverted nipples? ∨
We support families with flat or inverted nipples using nipple shields, positioning strategies, latch optimization, and milk transfer support. Many families successfully breastfeed with the right tools and guidance.
Can you help after a tongue or lip tie release? ∨
Yes. Post-release feeding support is essential. We provide re-latching support, feeding retraining, suck strengthening, oral motor exercises, and wound care guidance.
Do you support premature or NICU babies? ∨
Yes. We provide specialized support for preterm babies, NICU graduates, pumping for NICU, transitioning to breast, and milk supply protection.
Can you help with reflux or gassiness? ∨
We assess feeding mechanics that may contribute to excess air intake, fast flow, oversupply, and feeding position. We also collaborate with pediatric providers when needed.
What if I'm returning to work soon? ∨
We help build a return-to-work feeding plan including pump schedules, milk storage, bottle feeding strategies, caregiver education, and supply protection.
Can you help me wean? ∨
Yes. We provide gentle, hormone-supportive weaning plans for partial weaning, night weaning, and full weaning.
Do you offer follow-up support? ∨
Yes. Follow-up visits are often recommended to ensure your plan is working and adjust as your baby grows.
